And now, some help for your man!

Ever since we were little girls, most of us have been dreaming of that perfect wedding dress. We each have different ideas about what that may be, but no matter what you end up with, it has to be totally you. And although we tend to forget about it, as we are embroiled in an internal 'mermaid vs. a-line silhouette' debate, what you grooms and their groomsmen wear can totally add to the overall feel of your event. Sophisticated menswear can make a Saturday night glam event even more elegant. Maybe your event is a laid-back affair, where something both casual yet wedding appropriate would be best. Either way, menswear should not be forgotten. And just like recent bridesmaids trends, consider giving your groomsmen the option of finding something that is more 'them' (within your guidelines of course) with possibly the same tie or similar handkerchiefs. There are endless and interesting possibilities! Menswear can be really fun, just be open to new ideas and the males of the party can make a real statement too!

Keep in mind, there are plenty of rules when it comes to mens fashion, so if you have any questions, ask us! We'd love to help!

hint: Pleated pants are for older men, flat-front pants are a better choice for the young and modern guy...

Thanks for posting this. I also think it's important to point out that a groom should buy a suit or tux! It's their wedding day too and there's no reason to wear something rented that someone else sweat in or spilled beer all over. A groom will more than likely re-wear his suit or tux so they should spend just as much (if not more) as a bride spends on a dress! Why not go to a tailor and have a suit custom made! This seems like a no brainer to me but not many grooms do it.

I'm curious....what do you girls think of Trash the Dress? Funky and cool? Weird and messy? I think with the right setting it can be fab.

What color suit would you recommend for a Sunday evening wedding? We are just hosting a dinner at a private room in an upscale restaurant for about 80 people, and I'm wearing a short dress. (Remember me?) I was thinking a grey suit similar to the one in your post...Is black too formal?

I think it can depend on the time of year the wedding is, but I would say that an interesting grey suit, maybe from someone like Paul Smith would be wonderful. His fun, hip and young suits and dress shirts seem like they would be a perfect match for the whimsical and casual feeling the restuarant and a cute short dress evokes!
